Metal Spark, located in Diest, is a metallurgical laboratory where elemental analysis is performed on metal samples with the help of spark optical emission (Spark OES) and PMI-XRF spectrometers. With one of the most stable spectrometers on the market today, we analyse and report your metal samples with a fast and professional handling.
We are able to measure following metals for you:
Iron-matrix: Steel, carbon steel, high alloyed steel, stainless
steel, tool steel, manganese steel and cast iron
Aluminium-matrix: Pure aluminium and aluminium alloys
Nickel-matrix: Pure nickel, nickel-chrome alloys and nickel-iron

Copper-matrix: Pure copper, brass and messing
Titanium-matrix: Pure titanium and titanium alloys
Cobalt-matrix: Pure cobalt and cobalt alloys
Zinc-matrix: Pure zinc (>95%)
Why Metal Spark?
At Metal Spark there are no long lead times, within 48 hours an official report is sent to the customer. Because of the high resolution of the instruments and the needed certified reference materials, we can offer all of these alloys with high precision and accuracy.
ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory
From 13.10.2022, Metal Spark is accredited laboratory, with certificate number 705-Test. Our wide scope of application covers almost all critical elements for each matrix. For more information hereover, see accreditation.
On-site testings and PMI-measurements possible
If requested, we have the possibility to come on-site to perform measurements with our mobile spectrometer. We are able to visit customers in the whole Benelux area. Our Spark-OES spectrometer has the capabilities to measure elements like carbon, sulfor and phosphor with good precision and acuuracy.
Would you like to see elemental analysis through a non-destructive technique (XRF) ? We have a XRF-PMI instrument with the necessary certificates and licence to perform XRF-measurements on location.

Renting of mobile spectrometer
Do you have need for a mobile instrument to perform chemical analysis or PMI on-site, and you don't own a spectrometer? Metal Spark has the opportunity to rent our mobile OES device for a certain period of time. We will leave our instrument at customer site after a short hands-on training.
